Entry Requirements

PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

  1. NIGERIAN: All admissions shall be through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
  2. FOREIGN: The University will admit foreign students through Scholastic Aptitude Test, Öğrenci Seçme Sınavı, YÖS examination or any other internationally recognised University Entrance Exam, equivalent to JAMB in Nigeria. In order to comply with the admission policy into Nigerian Universities, all foreign students admitted into Nile University of Nigeria will subsequently be cleared with JAMB
  3. TRANSFER: The College shall not accept transfer students, other than those coming from another accredited medical school. Transfer students will only be considered in view of our Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria quota

ENTRY TO 100 LEVEL

A candidate shall possess:

  1. Senior Secondary School Certificate or internationally recognized equivalent with credit passes in five (5) subject at not more than two (2) sittings AND
  2. have an acceptable score in the University Matriculation Examination (UME)

ENTRY TO 200 LEVEL

  1. Direct entry – A Candidate shall possess:
  2. two “A” Level passes (Chemistry, Physics or Biology) or equivalent in addition to credit passes in five subjects at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or equivalent
  3. IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board)
  4. First degree in a relevant science course with at least second class lower division
  5. Transfer students
  6. Completed 100 level or pre-med from another MBBS or equivalent programs may be accepted to 200 level by Faculty Board decision
  7. Students who have completed all 100 level courses with a minimum grade of ‘C’ in other relevant departments such as microbiology, biochemistry, biology etc. First class students are preferred

ENTRY TO OTHER LEVELS FROM ANOTHER MBBS (or equivalent) PROGRAM

The Faculty Board will take into consideration transcript and professional examinations into consideration when making a decision on a case by case basis.
